Half Acre In Town Farm is a small family-run operation built from a simple starting point: collecting and sharing seeds from the plants growing around us.

We began by gathering seeds from trees on our local property and offering them on eBay. What started as a small side project quickly grew as we began saving flower seeds from our own garden beds and expanding into forage, food plot, and cover crop seeds. Over time, that small seed effort developed into a focused seed and growing supply business.

Today, we continue to operate as a hands-on family farm. We are directly involved in sourcing, handling, and packaging the seeds we sell. Our focus is on practical varieties that growers, gardeners, and land managers can use with confidence.

The SimpleSow Blend Line

In 2022, we introduced our own line of seed blends under the SimpleSow name.

SimpleSow grew out of what we were seeing customers need most — straightforward, well-balanced mixes that remove guesswork from planting. Instead of requiring growers to source and measure multiple seed types, these blends are designed to provide practical combinations for food plots, soil improvement, and seasonal coverage.

What to Expect When You Order

Small-batch packaging
Orders are packed in clearly labeled, securely sealed bags. Because we operate as a small family farm, packaging is done in manageable batches rather than mass production runs. Additionally, we do not prepackage. All orders are packed at time of sale, allowing us to work through seed lots quickly so we can source the next batch that is as fresh as possible. 

Order processing time
Most orders ship within 1–2 business days. During peak planting seasons, processing may take slightly longer as order volume increases.

Shipping and tracking
All orders ship with tracking so you can follow delivery progress. Shipping speed depends on carrier timelines and your location.

Straightforward quantities
Most products are offered in 1/2 lb and 1 lb packages to keep ordering simple and flexible. This allows customers to mix and match varieties without committing to large bulk amounts.

Clear planting guidance
Each product listing includes planting depth, timing, and estimated coverage so you can plan your planting with confidence.

Real-world seed handling

Seed Storage & Freshness

For best results, store seed in a cool, dry location away from direct sunlight and moisture. Excess heat and humidity can reduce viability over time.

Unopened seed stored under proper conditions will generally maintain good viability through the current planting season and often way longer, depending on the crop type. After opening, reseal the package tightly and continue to store in a dry environment.

Because seed is a living product, performance improves when planted within the recommended planting window rather than stored for extended periods.

Germination & Growing Conditions

All seed is handled and packaged with care; however, germination and field performance depend heavily on environmental and management factors outside our control.
