Sorghum sudangrass is a fast-growing warm-season annual hybrid used for summer forage, grazing, hay, and high-biomass cover cropping. It thrives in heat and tolerates drought once established, making it ideal for late-spring and summer plantings. Plant only after soil temperatures reach 65°F. Allow plants to reach 18-24 inches before first grazing or cutting to reduce prussic acid risk. It regrows quickly after cutting and can produce multiple harvests in a season. Excellent for building organic matter and suppressing weeds.
