Egyptian wheat (Sorghum durra) is a tall warm-season annual sorghum that can reach 8-12 feet in height, making it ideal for wildlife screening, wind breaks, and grain production. It thrives in heat and tolerates drought once established. Plant after all frost danger has passed and soil temperatures exceed 65°F. It produces abundant seed heads that provide high-energy food for birds, deer, and other wildlife. Egyptian wheat grows rapidly and creates excellent structural cover for upland game birds and deer.
